I have truly loved stretching my creative muscles to design and create my English boards over the past 3 years. It’s crazy to look at my first attempts, and then look at how much more refined and pretty the boards became with more and more practice. I never thought that this would be something I would be good at, but I’m really proud of the things I’ve made. I hope that sharing photos of my boards here will help inspire other ALTs as they design English boards at their own schools.
That being said, this is my final board. At each elementary school I teach at, I spent at least a day digging through the photo archives to find pictures of me at work. I found so many precious memories of classes, parent observation days, graduations, sports days, gardening activities, and more. It was also fun to look back and see the faces of students that have since graduated, or how tiny my current students looked. It really brought home to me just how much I’ve watched them grow up.
These boards each have a goodbye message from me, a heartfelt thank you for all the good memories, and pictures of my 3 years at the school. The board will only be seen by the current students and staff, but it’s a love letter to all the my past students and coworkers, to the growing up we did together, and to the school itself. I could think of no better way to say goodbye.
